Active in education
and training
The profession of the tanner is a centuries-old, well respected craft. And we want to keep it that way. That is why we consistently invest in training and professional development. In close cooperation with the Forschungsinstitut für Leder und Kunststoffbahnen (FILK) we have been training apprentices and tannery masters for decades and we often permanently employ them following their education. Every year, up to six apprentices join us to complete a training as master chemists or leather technicians before they graduate as journeymen. We actively support our trainees in this project in order to expand their career opportunities – which of course makes us very happy.

terracare® leather is manufactured in many steps by human hands and machines. Particular care is required when machinery is part of the production process. The highest level of occupational safety is therefore a matter of course for us: Our machines are safety-monitored and comply with the strict German safety regulations. Furthermore we constantly train our employees in handling the equipment properly in order to minimize risks. We also provide each employee with his own personal protective equipment (PPE) free of charge. After all, the well-being of our workforce is fundamental to our work.
